NO TE PREOCUPES, PEQUEÑO

 

Hubo un tiempo en que solía buscar

respuestas en la mirada de mi padre.

Era un hogar feliz del que me sentía

el rey habitando en un trono de oro.

De esos días que se han volatilizado

sólo quedan retratos de pared.

Ahora me dedico a escuchar

las canciones de la lejana infancia.

En una colina sobre un lago azul

fue donde sufrí mi primer desengaño.

 

 

 

Aún recuerdo cómo cambió todo

para mí. En ocasiones así mi padre

venía a consolarme: “No estés triste,

muchacho. El cielo tiene para ti

un gran destino reservado.

No te mortifiques más, Dios proveerá.”

Aunque parezca mentira,

hubo una época en que conocí

a una chica distinta del resto.

 

 

Salir con ella me daba alas,

era como sentir que gobernaba

el mundo. Pensé que nunca

la perdería. ¡Éramos tan jóvenes!

Todavía pienso en ella mucho

y me deleito oyendo las canciones

en las que yo era el amado.

Fue sobre un verde altozano

con vistas a un lago precioso.

Allí es donde tuvo lugar

mi primer fracaso amoroso.
